Rick Barry / Oakland Oaks

Barry hurt his left knee on Dec. 27 1968 @ NY against the Nets. It was Oakland's 30th game of the season, yet Barry is listed as having played 35 games for the season (34 in Loose Balls).

Was Barry's injury not season-ending? And if so, when did he return? I'm quite certain he didn't play in the ABA Finals that year, as he's not listed as having played in the playoffs. So he must have made up those 4-5 games somewhere?

His Wikipedia entry indicates that he played some in January but aggravated the injury to the point where he had to shut it down for the rest of the season.

I'll try to get more details.

Turns out Barry returned Jan. 28 for the All-Star Game, played only 12 minutes, then played the next five games for Oaks before being carried from the court at Kentucky on Feb. 7 - thus taking his games total to 35 for the season.
