Individual Career ABA High Games

Postby John Grasso » Thu Feb 24, 2011 11:51 pm

I finally finished putting together a list of all 518 ABA players' individual career high games in the ABA. That excel list may eventually make its way to the APBR site.

A few observations:

ABA Career High

0 - 11 players 2%
1-9 - 84 players 16%
10-19 - 120 players 23%
20-29 - 142 players 28%
30-39 - 90 players 17%
40-49 - 49 players 10%
50-59 - 18 players 3%
60+ - 4 players 1%

The NBA Individual Highs from 1946-2010 are quite similar as to percentages. I have data on 3398 of the 3602 players.

0 - 46 players 1%
1-9 - 587 players 17%
10-19 - 832 players 25%
20-29 - 895 players 26%
30-39 - 641 players 19%
40-49 - 285 players 8%
50-59 - 92 players 3%
60+ - 20 players 1%

Of the 518 players who played in the ABA, 256 (49%) only played one season in that league.

During the ABA years, 1967-76, there were 533 players who played in the NBA and 120 of them (22.5%) only played one season. 12 of these one season players also played only one season in the ABA and for Jim Burns (67-68), Rodney Knowles (68-69), Joe Reaves (73-74) and Dennis Stewart (70-71) it was the same season.

In the BAA/NBA from 1946-2010 there have been 3,602 players and
1,042 (29%) only played one season.
