Mike Frink reported by e-mail Monday that his younger brother, Pat Frink, was killed in a rollover car accident Sunday night near Tucson. He was 67.
The brothers were basketball stars at Wheat Ridge High School and later at the University of Colorado.
Pat Frink scored 1,288 career points for the Buffs from 1964-68, leading the team in scoring for the three seasons he played. He missed the 1965-66 season with injuries. He played one season in the NBA.
Frink lived off and on outside of Tucson since 1972. He had been struggling with emotions since the loss of his daughter in 2000. She died while battling Rett syndrome.
"Pat really lost his sense of purpose when his daughter died," Mike Frink said.
Arrangements are pending.
