Re: Anyone have success bringing in Stats.NBA.com data to Google Sheets?

I know this isn't exactly what you want but this chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... njkfbcmeha

allows you to download the tables on a page as a csv.

Re: Who is the MVP for 2018-19?

Is this supposed to be who I think will win or who I think should win?

Chrome Extension for downloading Stats(dot)NBA(dot)com data

I have created a simple chrome extension for downloading data from stats(dot)nba(dot)com as csvs. I'd love for people to play around with it and give feedback. Go to the page you want, right click, and select Download data, a popup will appear asking if you want to download the data from the api end...

Here are CSVs with play by play and players on the court going back a few years. As for analysis, I'm not sure how you could work with this data with out some knowledge of coding.

Re: 2018-19 season commentary

I tried to add a small luck adjustment to RAPM last year with 2 changes to the play by play: The points scored off free throws to the FT% of the shooter. If a 75% ft shooter hits both his FTs in a stint, in RAPM it would be 2 points, in LA-RAPM it is worth 1.5 points. The points scored off 3s are ch...

Re: Stability of Team Statistics

A team would be looking at things like the quality of 3pt attempts, if the team is struggling to get into plays on the offensive end, etc. Those elements should be apparent to the trained eye very quickly, compared to the crude measure of counting stats. So I looked at this last year in terms of ex...

Re: 2018-19 season commentary

I don't want to take credit for shadow's data; They linked their own data set. My 5 year RAPM (2014-15 - 2018-19, regular season only) can be found here

Re: WOWY Shot charts - http://nbashotcharts.com

I've added RAPM, Luck Adjusted RAPM, and Real Adjusted Four Factors to the site: http://nbashotcharts.com/fourfactors

The underlying api is open to the public, so if you want to use the data directly, feel free to reach out and i'll send you the request/response model.

WOWY Shot charts - http://nbashotcharts.com

http://nbashotcharts.com/home I've posted this a few times on twitter, but I was inspired by nbawowy and built an equivalent for generating shot charts. I'm always looking for feedback, so suggestions, improvements, new features. etc are always welcome. A couple things to note: Slow on first access....

Re: 2018-19 team win projection contest

I knew my projections were off (way to long at the tails), but I didn't expect to be this bad. Kings and cavs are killing me.

Re: On Nba.com lost the play-type stats

Interesting. I'm guessing based on what you all are showing that they are either making changes to how they calculate those stats/the data source or they have decided to remove them from the site. Their devs did the easy thing and removed the links to the page before they killed the page itself. The...

Can you give a link to which API/page you are talking about? They have migrated some endpoints and made breaking changes to others.
