Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
Gotta say, I don't feel my 'victory' has been accepted among the community.

Yeah, I believe I'm a sooner rather than a later.

Re: Questions regarding "e-Wins"
Appreciate the thorough explanation, Mike ! As far as posting the question, I was in a discussion with a casual fan about this year's MVP race and where Westbrook, Harden, LeBron, KD fit in, they asked me if there was a was a way to estimate how many wins a player added to a team, to which I pointed...

Questions regarding "e-Wins"
Stop me if I've asked before, but Mike G., how exactly do you arrive at your e-Win totals ? I'm not looking to copy anything or attempting to improve upon it, I was just curious as to the steps taken to arrive at a total. I'm interested in the nuts and bolts, I could have sworn I've seen it on here ...

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
Maybe I should just revert back to past year's contest for my answer, but is our winner based on average absolute error or RMSE ? Is working with a blend of the 3 redundant ?

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
Pleasantly surprised to say the least. It's still anybody's competition at this point. Alot of entries clustered pretty close together.

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
So if I'm to understand, I've made less errors than most, but my errors are also of a larger discrepancy. When I hit, I'm almost dead on, but when I miss, it's pretty substantial.

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
The contest seemed a little more 'involved' last year. Am I wrong ? Glaring absences I can think of are no DSmok1, no Statman, no Evan Z, no Dr. Positivity..

Re: eWins leaders 2016-17
eWins for Orlando Magic. This year(2016-2017) vs. last year (2015-2016) vs. 2 years ago (2014-2015) ?

Whoops. I left out the word 'all' before luck, in the phrase, definitely not luck. Just reread that.

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
2015-2016 on left, 2016-2017 on right (+) denotes being too high on a team's win total (--) denotes being too low on a team's win total With a couple exceptions, it would seem there's just teams I seem to closer on than others. Miami................0 +1 Minnesota.........0 +2 Atlanta..............+1...

Re: 2016-17 Team Win Projection Contest / Discussion
Do you think the reason for such a tight field and a much lower margin of error is everyone individually improving their methods over time, or moreso just a 'wisdom of crowds' approach. I believe I saw a couple people say they included the group projection within their blend. It's definitely not all...
