Re: Observations with EPM
Yes the lower EPM values are percentiles but you are right to ask about what the population(s) is (are). Qualifiers are involved in estimated skill calculations but not immediately clear for all stat displays. Different ways of doing things. Explanations are useful but not always complete or read. N...

Clark not coming back til next season.
Don't know the mean, median or mode measure of center here but seems like a longer than typical absence.

Re: Observations with EPM
Mean, median, and mode are different measures of center. The group of measures of center are often called loosely "averages" instead because it is slightly simpler and not expecting a debate on the difference. Here is a example of the BBC calling "them" averages: "An average...

Re: WNBA 2025 eWins etc.
"College players have BPM, yet WNBA do not??"
Yeah,, that seems odd. Is that a BRef decision or non-action?
Maybe Daniel has the story.
WNBA BPM has been produced elsewhere, by nbacouchside at least in past. Not immediately seeing any current.

Re: WNBA 2025 eWins etc.
68 WNBA players rate at or above .100 winshares / 40. 32 over about .160. Those listed as Guards are represented in the top 32 at about half of a straight proportional share. Forwards and Centers (including F/Cs) are about equally and sognificantly over-represented in the very top. Guards are also m...

Re: Expansion
NBA expansion probably on hold until NBA Europe is established, fails or never happens. Never heard a,word on whether NBA Players Association is pro, con neutral on expansion or doesn't know or doesn't care. If they took a position,,I'd think that would be pretty important. Pros and cons of dividing...

Re: Dallas Mavs from here
Gafford and Washington re-signed, along with Irving. Mavs stabilize on current group, unless or until they trade. It should be at least good. How good to be determined and influenced by coaching and analytics. Circumstances but no lineup average even 1.5 minutes per game for season and only 2 over 1...

Re: Inquiries into stats and comparative detail
Looking at Crafted PM by role, starting with "primary ballhandler", there were 12 at or above +3, then 12 more from +1 to +2.9, then 15 more from -1 to almost +1. Then only 8 others down to -3.5. SGA, Doncic and Tatum lead the first tier, Brunson and Morant start the second tier, Banchero ...

Re: WNBA 2025 eWins etc.
Wilson and Collier flip #1 and #2. Collier does a few things less or worse late but not scoring efficiency. Wilson improves shooting a bit but also shoots significantly more and rebounds more in August. Iriafen and Citron were high draft picks with the desired +13 BPM college seasons to stamp them a...

Re: Observations with EPM
An average "rating" would be the mean of the population. An average player would be the median. The mean is considerably higher than the median because of better to way better than median players with significantly more minutes.

Re: Wins Above Contract
Bucks found probable "value" on 3rd+ contacts with players with little bargaining power. Who else? Important strategy, especially for them after spurging on Turner. How commonly are 2nd contracts bad values at the different levels? I see plenty of contracts good or reasonably close to neut...

Re: Wins Above Contract
Curry -6 on WAC, Butler -5ish. -11 combined. Total edge matters directly. Inefficiency in places can be made up for in other areas or with more spending. But this makes for hard work. For a season. Wait n see what comes from it and comes after it.
