Re: Pelicans

What about Dante Cunningham? Not that he's a super difference maker or anything, but most metrics had him as a quality rotation player in 25 minutes per game last year. Now he's an unrestricted free agent, and I haven't heard a peep about him, like he's fallen off the face of the earth. For me, he ...

Re: Pelicans

Depending on how they fill the ~4700 minutes I'm missing, they'll likely settle around 40.

Forgot. His contract wasn't listed on Spotrac yet, so I'm guessing he hasn't officially signed. Good eye.

Dream scenario for them is probably a Mudiay + (Faried/Plumlee/?) deal. Not sure what comes back.

Re: Thunder

"Talent" is your metric? Whether yes or no, reminder of how calculated? I probably should have just made my own thread and dumped teams in one by one, but yes "Talent" is my metric. 50/50 split of WS/48 and BPM, three years of data. I think I weighted it 6/3/1 but honestly, I don't remember off the...

Ahh, I knew I was missing something. That trade isn't "official" yet, so Spotrac didn't have Joseph here or Miles on the Raptors. I remembered Miles; forgot about Joseph.

Re: Nets

It doesn't matter but if they want to win a bit more: Less Kilpatrick. More Booker. No Nicholson. Little Whitehead or Harris. More Lin and Carroll, even just to generate better trade options. They should be praying that Lin and Carroll look good in the 1st half of the season. I think Lin could be t...

Re: Pelicans

oh, ok. Thanks for the reply. So I'll use the middle REP total and basically ignore the other 2. Yeah, that's the safest bet. Most teams aren't getting such a huge gap on my first pass, but the Pels are just so poorly constructed I couldn't figure it out. I'm going to dig into some Pelicans blogs/r...

Re: TWolves?

Minnesota has a surplus usage issue using those minutes projections. Based on last year's usage rates, the minutes weighted usage rate for the team is 110%. Obviously this number can't be greater than 100%. So I'd expect diminishing returns to kick in and probably would knock them down to around 45...

jgoldstein34 wrote:My model has them more around 53-55 wins but that's mostly because the metric I use just thinks their top end guys are better than yours does. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Talent is based mostly off WS/48, yes?

Re: Raptors

Thanks for all the charts. Minute allocations generally look good. Only mentioning quibbles, alternatives elsewhere. Thanks. The specifics for each position are purely cosmetic, which is probably obvious. I'm doing them all by hand and using BR for each guy's individual position %s, so they should ...

Re: Raptors

Curious for your win projections thus far Josh, do they all exist in the same world or is each unique to the team? I.e. will adding each team's win together equal 1230 or not. Given that the East is especially easy and the West especially hard, could shift each team one way or the other. These are ...

Re: Pelicans

What are the three stacked win totals? The first one, then rep, then avg. It is not obvious. Pelicans should probably trool / pound looksees at training camp, nonguaranteed 1 yr deals, 10 days. True free fight for minutes after the first few guys. Be ready to yank the Coach Gentry if he gets stuck ...

Re: Pistons

What's the plan if they give it one more year and they miss the playoffs again? Trade Drummond, I guess? If they don't take a step forward this year, it's going to be a long time before the Pistons are good again. Besides the Knicks, the Pistons might have the least desirable situation in the East.

Re: 2017-8 projection for 76ers

Total crap-shoot. They could really use a consolidation trade. There are so many guys that play ~20 MPG. So much variance.
