Re: Help with calculating WARP (from basketball-prospectus)

I was actually doing much the same exercise with the Bulls (mostly out of my own curiosity) and came up with the same frustrations. Also, Kevin often switches between using "Usage" as a term and then other times uses "Pos %" or "Poss %" and it's all very confusing. The question I had (which I just t...

Re: So Who Is Gonna Sign Ian Clark?

One good shooting game does not an NBA career make though, right? Remember this from last year? ST Ian Clark was the best pure shooter in this year's potential draftees. It's hardly one good game. See, e.g., this piece by Luke Winn: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/college-basketball/news/20130626/...

Re: So Who Is Gonna Sign Ian Clark?

Considering the premium placed on three point shooting in FA this year, it's insane he went undrafted and unsigned as long as he did.

Re: Has anyone actually tried to calculate Schaller's TPR st

Thanks for checking into this. He lists an email and phone # on those links. If you are really interested, maybe give it a try and contact him directly. I don't recall if he has ever conversed here. Well, I was curious if anyone else had tried it because there's a good chance I'm missing something ...

Has anyone actually tried to calculate Schaller's TPR stat?

He posts the general formula on his site, but when I tried to follow his steps, it didn't seem to come out. I was interested because he has been pretty good in the Prediction Threads the last few years, along with Hollinger (who I would guess won't be participating this year, as a result of his new ...

Re: So Who Is Gonna Sign Ian Clark?

The Bulls, I hope. They need as many shooters as possible. Snell, Murphy, Dunleavy all fit the bill. Clark would do same.

Re: RAPM last season for recent acquisitions of some teams

Nets acquisition of Pierce (+3.8), Garnett (+4.1), Terry (-1.6) sending out Humphries (-1.0), Wallace (+1.8), Bogans (-3.9), Brooks (-4.1)

Pretty big win for Nets, obviously.
