Re: Predictions 2014-2015

About 3 wins for KD is what I figured. I've seen people speculate things like 8, which seems way overboard, but didn't know if I was being a homer as an OKC fan. As for the Lakers, its only preseason, but I'd recommend they rethink the approach. Their offense has been pretty poor, and the shot chart...

Re: Player pairs that might have collinearity issues on rpm

Yep, BBR's lineup finder. I just ran it for the top 2 man lineups last season, but it goes back to 2001, and can do 2, 3, 4, or 5 man groups:

Wall/Ariza 1st, almost 2500 minutes. Durant/Ibaka first for OKC.

Re: Looking for Part-time Contributors to VantageSports.com

As well as compensation, what would the required writing amount be? Weekly? Daily? Bi-weekly? I've never done it before, but maybe for a few bucks on the side it could be a possibility.

Re: Predictions 2014-2015

Even w/o Love, I really think Minnesota's over is a good bet.

Re: Predictions 2014-2015

I would rethink the OWS for guys changing teams at the least. Meeks would be overrated as his team role was larger and he played on a faster team. Gasol likely replaces Boozer, so I'd think that alone should make him seem to add something to Chicago. I would think guys who may see a change in volume...

Re: Iverson's career stats

If anyone is familiar w/ simple in/out, ElGee from realgm did a post on it a little while back, and Iverson was in his data as well. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cFY3Qk8eLJo8_bKK0z4k8K-A3UpwQRGOCAsrSuUeQl0/edit#gid=1600342008 Peak his team had an SRS in of 2.3, out of -.6. He ranked aroun...

Re: New Vantage blog?

Anyone know anything about this? Could be interesting. http://www.vantagesports.com/ Yes, will be launching in October. And for those interested, I'll have a cluster analysis of the defensive Vantage stats that will redefine positions defensively. Also, will have A LOT more into all of the shot clo...

Re: One move from title?

TBH, Roc Nation or not, I only see DC as a plausible place for Durant to go.

Re: One move from title?

No problem. I just feel like a single decision years ago could change so much. For example, they draft Noah, do they then still take Ibaka as a second rim protecting big the following season? The Perk trade never happens, but they still need a PF then, and may make moves for that. Just so many trick...

Re: One move from title?

Crow, always enjoy your posts on RealGM and Welcome To Loud City as well! As for these, I definitely don't think Adams/Plumlee would have, as I think Adams is as good now, and has a higher ceiling. The others are questionable with the big one being Noah to me. The issue I see is a butterfly effect t...

Re: Andrew Wiggins or Kevin Love?

[quote="mystic" I completely agree that Young is the better alternative here, but I can't quite follow the notion of "contract is expiring". Thompson and Young are both on reasonable contracts and with an increased salary cap having either of them longer under contract should be a positive here not ...

Re: Estimating Replacement Level: Sabermetrics perspective

Have there been guys who have played 3 plus seasons for decent minutes at -3 or worse on rpm and gotten another NBA contract? Closest cases I see immediately: Warrick had 2 before Portland signed him (and two at about -2 before that) and his 3rd worse than -3 last season. Mullens have 5 straight ne...

Re: Andrew Wiggins or Kevin Love?

Yes, but that was the first time someone from the organization went out in such a fashion. The statements before were more in-line with the idea that they first try to keep Love. If that fails, they will likely trade him. And that would also be the propper way to handle the situation. It is not tha...
