New Blog: Basketball Intelligence

Post by rlee »

Hello all,

For those of you who haven't learned of this yet, we have been posting on our (relatively) new blog - Basketball Intelligence - for several months.

The purpose of the blog is to link to the best online stories daily. For story selection, we use 4 criteria; to qualify a story must pass our "4 I" test, it must be intelligent, insightful, interesting and informative. (Not all of the stories include analytics but many do.)

Check out the blog here: basketballintelligence.wordpress.com

Once there, simply click on "follow" to be notified of each day's new post.

Thanks & welcome to the Basketball Intelligence family,

Ray L (aka rlee)

Thanks for the link and doing this. I found a few articles I hadn't seen. Including one with coaches admitting their high anxiety about the rise of analytics their high level of distrust. I would like to hear some coaches talk about cases where the analytics pointed in one direction and they disagreed and the analytics proved wrong. I don't recall that kind of reaction being out there much though there are probably cases that could be found

So much out there these days. Would probably have to go full-time to do all that would be worth reading / doing, if that made sense.

The Sacramento Kings are recognizing Basketball Intelligence and APBR with a special event at their game vs. the T'wolves on 3/1. Some details and ticket info is available here: kingsgrouptickets.com/basketballiq

The game tickets are discount priced, no service fee added with a choice of upper or lower level.

We hope all NorCal members will join us for this event.

If anyone wants further info, please email me at judco12000@yahoo.com.

Thanks and see some of you on 3/1.

I would be interested in attending the event. Unfortunately, I will be at the Sloan Conference on that day.

We have had a large number of requests to post daily links to BI here. We would rather stay consistent with the purpose of this board to focus on metrics, so we will continue to post links only when metrics are a prime focus of the daily BI. However, if your interest in more expansive, you can easily get access to each day's BI post by either 1) clicking on "follow" at the blog at basketballintelligence.wordpress.com or 2) sending us a request to be placed on our daily email list at judco12000@yahoo.com. Thank you.
