Who else belongs with these guys -- great careers at the end of the run?

Regular Season and Playoffs:

Code: Select all

RS : Min WS vorp PO.Min WS vorp
Dirk 51k 206 67 5895 23.1 8.9
Vince 45k 126 55 3033 7.4 4.1
Pau 41k 144 57 4825 15.5 7.8
Melo 38k 101 28 2773 5.8 2.0
Wade 35k 120 58 6697 21.6 11.5
Wade has the "smallest" RS but in most ways the "biggest" PS career.
A normal career has about a 10:1 ratio of RS to PO minutes.

Here's a quasi-quantitative look at "size" of career at various levels of excellence, by various measures.
Number of years from 1st to last qualification:

Code: Select all

span Dirk VC Melo Wade Pau
allstar 14 8 11 12* 11
PER>25 5 1 0 7 0
PER>20 14 8 11 12 15
PER>15 19 16 14 16 18
WS48>.20 12 1 0 7 3
ws48>.15 15 11 9 9 15
ws48>.10 19 19 11 13 18
bpm>6 1 1 0 7 0
bpm>3 14 9 1 9 14
bpm>0 19 19 13 14 18
playoffs 16 18 15 16* 15
* - not counting this year's ASG by Wade, and assuming he reaches playoffs again (69% likely).

Pau is the first other guy to come to mind.

Vince has been almost shockingly effective at 42.

Thanks, added Pau Gasol (duh)
Vince Carter this year has career high 3PAr (.662), 3fg% (.410), 2fg% (.493) and TS% (.583); along with career low FTr (.122) and Ast% (9.3).
Dunks are 4% of all his FG, just off his career avg. But of his 2ptFG, 14 of 67 (21%) have been dunks. At his dunkingest, it was 15-16%

By age https://www.basketball-reference.com/pl ... der_by=age

Crawford, Korver, Parker, Hiliaro, etc. could be included possibly if considered important enough. And Dwight Howard for sure.
