Player vote on most over-rated

Post by Crow » Mon Apr 08, 2019 9:39 pm

"Who’s the most overrated? (47 votes): Draymond Green, Russell Westbrook (17%), Jimmy Butler, Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns (6.3%), James Harden, Ben Simmons, LeBron James, Kyle Lowry (4.2%), Semi Ojeleye, Kyrie Irving, Brook Lopez, Myles Turner, Luka Doncic, Hassan Whiteside, John Collins, Lonzo Ball, C.J. McCollum, Nikola Jokic, DeMarcus Cousins, Paul Millsap, Klay Thompson, Jayson Tatum (2.1%)"

I'd agree and disagree. A couple of the names are surprising to have drawn attention. But small sample...

2 notes:

1. I would say some of this voting is players who other players have a grudge with. It's a small sample, so that effects things.

2. It's odd but if people say you're overrated, are you really overrated? Seems being called overrated would say you're not.

A player can be consider over-rated by others and rated more fairly by that voter (though where they'd rated them is unstated).

It is kinda vague and without much meaning but whatever, fwiw.

Nobody mentioned Curry, Durant, George. Or Giannis A., Davis, Leonard, Gobert, Embid or Horford. Few probably even though about Vucevic.

Centers mentioned heaviest I think. And yeah they probably come to mind more for opposing players who encounter them and may have grunges with him. Guards seems like a lighter count and probably under-mentioned imo. But maybe not by total votes.
