Year to year lineup continuity in the west

Post by Crow »

Top 10 most used lineups in 2010-11 regular season still possible (at the moment) in 2011-12 in the West:

Dallas 0
Denver 0
Golden State 4
Houston 0
Lakers 1
Clippers 3
Memphis 4
Minnesota 4
New Orleans 0
OKC 5
Phoenix 0
Portland 0
Sacramento 2
San Antonio 2
Utah 1

Average: only 1.7 of 10.

It is mostly a new West, in terms of 5 man lineups and compared to the regular season.

Top teams in the East:

Atlanta 2
Boston 1
Chicago 4
Miami 4
Orlando 3

An average of 2.8 for the top 5 in the East.
Almost as new an East as well, from this perspective.

Looking at the 2011 playoff's top 10 most used lineups for a few teams:

OKC can still field all 10.
Miami 8.
Chicago 7.
Dallas 1.

Unfortunately, it looks like Curry is hurt. Otherwise, the Warriors might have been the only team to have the same opening day starting lineup from last season.

The only big time positive lineups that played 75+ minutes in the playoffs which are still possible are with Miami, Boston and Memphis.

OKC had 4 below this minute threshold that were pretty or very good, all with Collison on the court and Ibaka only once.

Philly had one close too.
