I'm happy to announce once again that as usual the basketball stats community is welcome to join us Thursday night before Sloan at the Fours (#1 sports bar in the country according to SI!). They will have space for us in the usual upstairs room - there is a Bruins game at the Garden that night so probably there'll be a little traffic downstairs post-game but the upstairs should be mostly open for us.

I'll probably be getting there about 9:30 but you're obviously welcome to show up anytime. As always, I strongly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Nachos.

As for the usual Sunday geeks' pickup game, it is happening. Your name will need to be on a list to get in; I'll have more details (including location) a couple days before the conference, but basically you'll need to PM me.

It's been amazing to watch this community grow so much from the 10-ish people we had at the Fours the first year! So please do stop by if you're in town.

Here's an entire article, with photos, about a basketball game during the Sloan Conference. Not the statgeeks' pickup game, but with some very familiar names playing. Wearing monitoring devices while playing in MIT's gym, it doesn't get statsgeekier than that.
