I see major issues for Griz in future on shooting and possibly rebounding, especially if it ends being without Adams. Minutes distribution warrants some analysis.

Is Jaren Jackson going to be worth his future salary? I am skeptical. What will they do with Dillon Brooks? Retain K Anderson? They got this far but the going from here gets tougher.

Curry is the leader of a team that won 4-1 and easily. 25% higher scoring than any teammate and best 3pt fg%. There was no way the voters wouldn't pick him.

Doncic had boxscore but atrocious raw plus minus. If they had gone to game 7 maybe there would have a slight chance for him. But probably not for an inaugural award.

Personally, you could have gone Curry or Looney. I think if you simply look at total cumulative impact in the series, Looney’s performance in terms of rim-scoring, screening and paint defense was nearly the same as Curry’s overall contribution — an idea supported by the wins stats above, as well as plus-minus data.

So, while I wasn’t surprised he won Conf. FMVP, I didn’t expect it to be unanimous. I would suspect player stature/status (superstar vs. role player) and Curry “wrongfully” lacking an FMVP had something to do with it.
