If the negative average performance of players in first two minutes is real and applies to all stints and not greatly more to their first stint in game vs. all later ones, then a rotation that minimizes first 2 minutes stint segment frequency (use of fewer lineups for longer avg. lengths) would be optimal compared to more heavy in/out coaching maneuver / commotion.

Jeremias, would you be able to share the underlying consecutive minute data used in this analysis? I am interested in learning what fraction of total NBA minutes are played in each (consecutive) minute increment.
