Alba Berlin sounds interested in NBA Europe. Actively talking with potential investment partners. Will they get agreements on price of franchise, price of investment equity, control / management?

Investment partner unlikely to get majority stake. At 30-49%, they get that share of the 50% of league revenue the team gets, or 15% -25%. But double share of the expenses / losses. Investor probably would have to be motivated by prestige, maybe long-term asset value.

Was Alba ever offered opportunity to become a Euroleague shareholder? Would they be interested if offered? Euroleague should probably make such an offer to them and others. Price unclear.

Seems unlikely that existing Euroleague media rights holders would take on another league and a higher cost in short-term.

It is likely NBA Europe will rely heavily on streaming, probably self-owned. Unless some global channel without basketball is interested at the NBA's asking price.

I guess the NBA could try to create partnerships ocer rights sales or use franchise fees to buy up media platforms.

All I see on the football clubs is loss, debt, turbulence.

I hear the NBA mention them but I rarely if ever see them mention NBA Europe.

Perhaps they might decide 'come back in 3-5 years'?

There is more reason to doubt NBA Europe getting what it desires in almost every city than to believe unless they have a boatload of mostly non-local wealthy buyers who don't care much about entry price or sustained losses.

NBA Europe in Lyon? In Greece or Turkey? The least likely as intended. Munich and Barcelona? Is somebody really going to compete there? London, Paris and Rome will attract interest but will it pencil out? What will the Armani family do?

If it is such an attractive opportunity, shouldn't somebody be offering a pre-emptive bid to avoid an auction?

Will Eurleague CEO criticism of "broken record" of thin presentation to date prompt meaningful additional specificity in Monday's NBA Europe meeting?

Doubts about 2 potential Manchester partners, but there is a 3rd candidate, the current operator of Manchester Basketball.

"Negotiations are beginning now on entrance fees for the 12 teams, with, sources said, a likely fluctuating scale based on market size."

Bidding previously indicated for January?

No public mention yet.

Either it was covered in the meeting or it wasn't. Assuming it wasn't until told otherwise.

Was anything more specified?

What did Silver in the media get except a list of attendees and side talks, a few positive comments and the stale repeat of the previous outline? I haven't seen much. Maybe tomorrow? Next month?

Multiple reports that the London game had lots of empty seats. Plenty of complaints about cost- original and scalped.

Several shareholder / fan groups for Real Madrid jointly expressed opposition to joining NBA Europe.

How much credit for success of NBA is because of:

players
attention grabbing social media (this must be important) / highlights, especially dunks exhibiting power
celebrities
bridges to youth culture
hyping success stories and the wealthy lifestyle
astute ticket sale practices
cable / streaming marketing imperatives for must see content to win paid subscriptions
city pride & rivalry
sense of belonging
gambling
experience playing
drama
interest in solving puzzle or at least claiming to know ball
playoffs and rarity of success

?

How successful can they build NBA Europe? How well does the current group know European basketball fans and potential fans?

Someone said the best edge the NBA has over Euroleague is the ability to hire hundreds of talented people. But will they? They don't sound like they plan to invest much or any of the franchise fees in development. They say that is on the teams. NBA seems focused on the rake but hard to say much on spending or revenue or specific marketing tactics.

Branding will be important for league and teams, starting with names and going deeper. Some have questioned whether NBA Europe is the right name. But what are the alternatives?

Euro 1
Euro Elite
Euro Prime
EURO UNITED

"....the average viewership of the NBA on Prime in Europe this season is almost three times higher (184%) year-on-year across a comparable number of games. In the same timeframe, average NBA viewership on Prime Video has grown by more than four times in the UK (312%) and three times in Germany (246%)"

Sounds great for NBA but what about for NBA Europe? If more Europeans watch the NBA, will they also watch NBA Europe... and continuing Euroleague and national leagues and EuroBasket, World championships and Olympics? There are limits for most on watching games on video.

NBA Europe will need media partners who believe in projected watch numbers and get people in the seats and buying merch in a highly saturated market for basketball, sports and entertainment and life.

Reporter says that Real Madrid is leaving Euroleague to join NBA Europe. Or "99%" likelihood.

"Although the final amount is not yet defined, it [the entry fee] will be significantly lower than what other clubs being created from scratch in cities strategic to the project, such as London, Manchester, or Rome , will have to pay ."

Will want to see further confirmation.

A reasonably modern arena could justify some reduction in entry fee. Being potentially the first and most important commitment could justify more but others will see discounts too.

Select interested parties to only now get NBA revenue projections.

"Non-binding bids expected by the end of March."
