Win % for Knicks to date is down 20% from last season. SRS twice as negative. Not really surprising but not better than expected. Probably less than hoped by many.

Winslow should never start another game for Heat, unless they are tanking. Overall he is playing about as bad as he ever has. He can't shoot and doesn't rebound enough for the position. Most of his player pairs are negative.

To the big name writer that saw big things coming from him... it didn't happen and I see no sign it will.

Cavs should trade Love, though it may be 3-6-12 months from now. Smith should be traded or more likely cut. Korver should go. Hill could. Frye should. Thompson, probably. Clarkson, if you can trade him. Nance has horrible plus minus pair data. Osman is floundering. Sexton is doing ok as a scorer but terrible in general on plus minus.

Rockets looked pretty good vs the Warriors. Harden didn't play all that well, but it's starting to look like they've got 8 real rotation guys. Could stand to add 1-2 more for the regular season grind.

Ennis fouls per game up 50% from last season. Harden up 35%. Heightened fouling is among the many issues.

Magic player development for guys 26 yrs old and under: Gordon, a step up but still around average or slightly better, not elite. In year 5. Bamba doing well. Should be for a high pick. Isaac, mixed. Almost everyone else (at least 7 guys) down. Including Fournier, Grant and Simmons. Others, mostly quite bad.

Rockets off to poor start... overall; but actually tied for best record against top 10 on Sagarin ratings at 5-2.

Some tend to dismiss heightened attention on performance against the best. It is important to me.

Rockets will probably improve against the middle and bottom tiers. They'll need to. But in the end to do anything memorable, they'll have to do it against top 10 teams.

Warriors with the worst starting record against top 10 and top 16 opponents of the 8 strongest teams overall. They'll pick it up but it is notable til they do.

Clippers at 5-3 against the top 10. That deserves highlighting too.

Butler with the other starting unit Sixers are plus 78 points per 100 possessions in first 20 minutes trial. Getting about 30% of Butler's minutes. I'd increase that.

Donovan Mitchell was average overall on several boxscore metrics last season. He is below to way below average on the same metrics this season. Above the "magical" 20 points per game though.

2.15 on RPM last season, so he had impact beyond the personal box score. Assume it will be down this season to date. We'll see on Monday when RPM begins to post.

Thunder's 7 most used lineups, plus 12.6 pts / 100 poss. Everything else, plus 3.3. This is a good dataset. But probably could be better with more lineup concentration.

Nuggets starting unit with T Craig was awful. So don't go back to it when he returns.

Blazers 7 most used lineups are performing at plus 13.1 / 100 poss. Everything else, -4.1. But Stotts is using the biggest / best for 64% of total minutes. That, relative to what most other coaches are doing, deserves a "Very Good Job".

Wondering if the Wizards are in win now or rebuild mindset regarding trades. Find it funny how had the Sixers waited a couple weeks, they would've walked away with a more team-friendly trade with Beal rather than with Butler.

Hornets should be taking this opportunity seriously, they will not get a better chance to obtain another star to compliment Kemba. I'd propose Marvin Williams, Lamb and Monk + unprotected 1st for Beal. Monk needs to get out of his slump to attract WAS, but I think that offer beats most others, esp if Miami continues to be unwilling to feature Josh Richardson in trades. Do Lakers make an offer and abandon chasing AD or Kawhi? Who else would make a good offer for Beal?
