Does anyone else separate stats by playoff series, or is it still just this here?

I'm not clear on what you're asking. I've been putting up stats for each series on my blog, but not here.

Arturo does it too on his site, taken to win equivalents. Others post series stats but usually not taken to win equivalents. I'd have to check the B-R blog again to see what they've done.

I don't know who Arturo is, and b-r.com blog gives series "previews" which are just regular season stats.

Evan, your profile doesn't contain a link. I don't see signatures any more.

(I put these sites in the linkage thread previously.)

I thought basketball-reference's blog might do it with Win Shares, but not so far. Would be welcome. Maybe it was done in the past. The values are still available to be looked up for the teams on their pages as series progress.

Looking at the leader list here, here is the sum of the top 3-4 guys on the list by team:

Atlanta- 4 guys sum to 4.1 wins, or 68% of their actual win total.

Boston- 4 guys sum to 4.1 wins, or 82% of their actual win total.

Chicago- 4 guys sum to 5.6 wins, or 70% of their actual win total thru 2 rounds.

Dallas- 4 guys sum to 4.9 wins, or 61% of their actual win total thru 2 rounds.

Lakers- 4 guys sum to 3.7 wins, or 93% of their actual win total.

Memphis- 3 guys sum to 4.6 wins, or 66% of their actual win total.

Miami- 3 guys sum to 5.6 wins, or 70% of their actual win total thru 2 rounds.

OKC- 4 guys sum to 5.9 wins, or 74% of their actual win total thru 2 rounds.

The average eWins from these top 3-4 Stars as a % of the actual wins thru 2 rounds for those who played 2+ rounds is about 75%.

Teams with the least "top Star" winning impact delivered in this playoffs? The Pacers with only Granger and the Knicks with only Anthony appearing on the top Star eWin impact list and both at just about 2/3rds of a eWin. New Orleans and Portland got almost twice as much but just 1.2-1.3 eWins from "top Stars" is still a major issue for these teams knocked out of the 1st round. But there are some issues with them not doing enough but more so with the lack of adequate 2nd, 3rd and 4th win-producing, supporting players.

It's got to be a b*** for Dallas that Haslem recovered just in time for the (conference) finals. He will definitely make life harder for Dirk. Although Dirk will probably still get his points. I suspect Marion and Terry to struggle though. This time Dallas doesn't even have homecourt advantage. Wade will shot 15 free throws per game, you will read about the shady officiating on Cuban's blog until 2015. Miami wins the next 5 championsships and the NBA becomes utterly boring

(Actually I think Wade will shoot less free throws because of Chandler)

At some point I'm going to do a study on whether offensive efficiency drops when players are in the game for too long. In these playoffs it feels that every team that collapsed in the 4th quarter, which seemed to happen a lot of times, simply rode their star players way too much in the second half and/or 4th quarter. At some point these players, even if they're superstars, just have to be mentally fatigued I think. At that point it's not surprising when they cough up bad turnovers or start to have bad shot selection. I think in one OKC game the same 5 man unit played the entire 4th quarter, losing the quarter by 15; then the exact same unit played the entire overtime. Hm

You're right, and this is historically a feature of younger/newer coaches.
Knowing when/how to change the lineup is what separates the great ones.
In general, sticking with proven substitution patterns is best, occasionally doing something novel. But no substitution? Nah.

If anyone wants to "estimate" (R)APM from the playoffs, I made a quick regression using 3-yr RAPM and 3-yr advanced stats.

Offense had an R^2 of .6, Defense of .4. I combined the two sets of coefficients, however.
All variables were at p<.05

Intercept is zero.
