Rockets probably won't trade Westbrook. Not sure what they could actually get.

Far more likely to try to trade Gordon. For a lot expensive player or several lesser?

Should try to re-sign Jeff Green.

MLE, vets at minimum. Could help. But the Gordon trade and new Coach are the biggest chances to improve.

Only positive lineup with Westbrook used over 51 minutes in regular season was used just 10 minutes in playoffs. Did great. Why the tiny usage? I dunno.

Against Lakers, Rockets when Westbrook was off court were ahead in 2 losses and tied in 2 losses and 1 win. Russ on court was part of the big game 1 victory and then all of the next 4 losses that the rest of team without him on court did not lose.

Why was Rockets offense only 10th in playoffs? Many reasons already cited and poor shooting / scoring from Westbrook and Rivers.

Why was Rockers defense so good in playoffs? Elevated already high opponent turnover rate and dramatically cut in RELATIVE foul committed rate rank. Foul call happy refs (well, foul calls up about 5%) maybe didn't call quite as many against these little guys as other teams?

Overall metrics offer differing estimates for PJ Tucker. Several -2s, a neutral and plus 1. They almost certainly keep him but he is probably not a decisive piece for better results.

Different performance from Westbrook and / or trades and free agents by various mean at different levels are the pathways along with new coach and perhaps tweaked or different strategy for change / possible greater success. Falling off some or a lot seems more likely to me.

Rockets were #1 on opponent turnover rate in playoffs. Averaged 9.7th on other 7 factors. 8th on team efg% and ts%. 1st on 3 pt frequency but 8th on 3pt fg%. Dead last on ft/fga.

Lots to try to improve.
