Thunder go from 4th lowest opponent ftm / fta last season to 7th most this season. The aggression is seeing more opponent turnovers and missed shots, but opponent scoring is up 2 points.

Thunder playing better than expected. But still 20th on SRS and just 1/2 game above 25th place by record.

They probably could be better, they could be worse. Probably pretty comfortable where they are at right now. Several final outcomes remain quite possible.

Giddey -21 team plus minus on the court at halftime. Rest of time with him off, +8.

Thunder win because of +24 without Giddey. Giddey and up -23.

This evening's starters were -85 pts / 48 minutes in 9 minutes.

Giddey does not work with SGA and Dort. JRE is far worse with them. Dort is ok overall with SGA but not with Giddey and JRE.
Thunder have ideas about who should be in the starting lineup now & in future, but very little to back it up. The search for something that actually works does not look systematic and serious to me at this point.

Just one pair on team over about 15 minutes per game.
Wiggins and Mann with some strong positives but none over 10 min / gm.
Pokusevski with starters is way better than JRE but still mildly negative.
It certainly appears they've finally decided Bazley is not a starter after persisting so long. Bench player, trade or just let him walk? He is doing ok as bench player right now. But no firm idea what he would get offered in free agency.
New level of offensive rebounding. A lot less Moreyball oriented shot distribution and a lower ts%. Career best 3pt fg% probably aided by 1/3rd less rate. Going to rim way more but only hitting 43%.

I jumped the gun on Jalen Williams and probably on Holmgren too. So make it one star and 15 guys who haven't yet made a strong case for starting or major long-term importance... yet.

Only 6 lineups over 15 minutes use in 15 games. 5 negative. Only one over 25 minutes. The worst of the bunch.

The very poor average performance of Giddey SGA Dort has been noted many times. Fwiw, they are as expected awful in first half but pretty good in 4th quarter so far.
Pull Giddey out earlier in 1st quarter? Eventually try to use the line "who starts matters less than who finishes"? Unlikely to work, given treatment in first 1.2 seasons. Also unlikely to work because unlikely to be tried.

Starters go -114 pts / 48 minutes in opening 5 minutes. Even rest of game but that got the L.

Is it wise for SGA to lead the league in drives this season? Probably not. Increased risk or this season and to long-term.

14 positive trios in 50 most used that should be building blocks for a rotation. Only 2 with Giddey. 8 players overall. Filling the holes optimally would take some time to select and refine over time but there is a basic structure to work with.
As with Knicks, there are 2 lineups incorporating 5 good trios that probably should dominate and then at least a dozen variations with strong sub-lineup credentials.
Easy.

Super chaos & early means relatively small samples sizes so today's performance isn't reliable. But adjust as learn more.

Could a good simulator help? Maybe. Still has to bear out in real world.
