No, I was just adding that Jordan's '92 season was a 35-7-7-3 per 100 season as well, (39.4--8.4--8.0--3.0) rather than one that appeared after dropping the Stl/100 Poss requirement to 2.5.

Yes, well it's not on this list:
http://bkref.com/tiny/Zkeb3
Apparently, he had more than 2.95 Stl/100, but less than 3.00
Now that I look at the link @ 2.5 Stl/100, I see James Harden has appeared for this season: 35.3 - 7.8 - 8.1 - 2.5
Anyway, the post above yours is just to note that the 2 greatest Guard seasons in the modern era are happening right now.
Not counting G-F like Jordan, Magic, Penny ...

I looked up the play index, 3.0 was listed. I don't doubt it, the links there, but if you look at the previous link, 3.0 is listed. No argument here, in most cases, as you just stated, 2.95 is rounded up to 3.0, while say 2.91 would be 2.9.

Andre Drummond is leading the league in Reb/G with 17.8; next best is DeAndre Jordan, at 12.73
Nobody has ever led the league for a full season by such a margin. Most years, it's less than one full RPG between #1 and #2.
Most recent season someone won the RPG title by a given integer:
Code: Select all
dif last 1st 2nd
1+ 2011 Love 15.2 Howard 14.1
2+ 2009 Howard 13.8 Murphy 11.8
3,4 1997 Rodman 16.1 Mutombo 11.6
<5 1979 Moses 17.6 RKelley 12.8
Rodman had a 4+ RPG advantage over everyone else for 3 years running, 1995-97. He missed plenty of games each year, though, and didn't lead in rebounds (total) any of those 3.

Right now, Russell Westbrook (13.17) and Stephen Curry (12.79) are the only players with double-digit BPM's. At the current pace, if they were to finish the season with 10.0+ BPM, it would mark only the second time since 1973-74 that more than one player finished the season with a double-digit BPM. The only other time was 2008-09, when 3 players finished at 10.0+, LeBron James (12.99), Chris Paul (11.22), and Dwayne Wade (10.66).

Players currently in the NBA get just about 7% of their minutes in playoffs, on average.
Only about 1/3 of players are above that avg. Tim Duncan's regular season minutes * .07 suggest 3850 playoff minutes; he's 5300 ahead of that.
Of players who were in the league last season -- and not counting this year's minutes -- the leaders in
playoff minutes deficit, i.e., minutes short of 7% of career minutes.
Code: Select all
Def playoff minutes 7% Min
1369 Elton Brand 2508 1139

760 DeMarcus Cousins 760 0
754 Eric Gordon 897 143
753 Jarrett Jack 1444 691
While we're unlikely to see some of these guys returning to action in time for the playoffs, I don't really know what they're doing in their down time.
Charlie V finally got into some playoffs with the Mavs last year. In his 43 minutes, he led the team in PER and WS/48.
Jason Thompson, with 14,398 playoff-free minutes, is just half way to Tom Van Arsdale's sad record.

Only one player has averaged what Steph Curry is averaging in Pts/Reb/Ast, over a whole season.
Code: Select all
yr 32-5-5.9 Pts Reb Ast Stl TS%
1988 Jordan 35.0 5.5 5.9 3.2 .603
1989 Jordan 32.5 8.0 8.0 2.9 .614
1990 Jordan 33.6 6.9 6.3 2.8 .606
2016 Curry 32.0 5.1 6.0 2.4 .700
The last 2 columns aren't
qualifiers; just coincidentally very high.
James Harden is at 29.5 - 6.7 - 6.6, which only 3 others have done: Oscar 5 times, Jordan once, LeBron x3.
Kevin Durant has averages of 28 - 7.5 - 3.5, with .647 TS%. The only other player to do this is KD in 2013; next best TS% in the group is Jordan's .614
Russell Westbrook's 27-7-9 has only been done by Oscar Robertson, in each of his first 6 seasons.

Andre Drummond currently has a TRB% of 25.0+(25.2), as well as 2.0+ Stl (2.6)and Blk(2.2) per 100 possessions. If he can continue at this pace, he'd essentially be the first player to pull it off, as the other two players to "accomplish the feat" did so in only a combined 113 minutes.

Hassan Whiteside leads the league in blocks (4.4 per game) and by a wide margin. He does this despite going only 28 mpg.
The only player to avg as many blocks in fewer minutes was Manute Bol in his rookie year: 4.96/26.1
Whiteside gets 8.0 blocks per 100 possessions.
Only Bol (7 times, up to 9.3) and Eaton (8.1) have had higher Blk/100 in >400 minutes.
Blk% doesn't consider 3-pt attempts to be 'blockable'. Thus his Blk% is easily the highest ever, at 12.0
Only Mourning (10.2) and Bol (5x, up to 10.8) have had Blk% > 10.
Last year, as a virtual rookie, he went 24 mpg. This year, he makes over 60% of his shots, but he gets fewer of them. He's an elite rebounder, and his foul rate is down by 1/3, from 4.1 PF/36 to 2.7
Why is he getting only 28 mpg?

Believe me, I have wondered this for over a year now. His foul rate is not an issue. Maybe it's a cardio thing, going after SO MANY shots on the defensive end has to be a bit exhausting for a big.

In 50 minutes (2 OT) last night, Draymond Green had 24 pts, 11 reb, 8 ast, 5 stl, 5 blk.
The only other player known (since 1986) to put up
24-11-8-5-5 was Hakeem Olajuwon, 29-18-9-5-11 in 40 minutes, 1990.
Barkely and Olajuwon (twice) also missed this by a single block.
By one steal, Jordan missed doing it.
On 3 occasions, Olajuwon missed by 2-3 assists.
Jordan is the only other player in the 24-*-8-5-5 club, and he had but 3 rebounds.
Vlade Divac had a 19-12-8-5-5 night -- one of just 3 to hit those last 4 marks.
It's just the 16th
5x5 game in 30 years. Hakeem had 6 of them, Kirilenko 3; once by Robinson, Coleman, Divac, Tinsley, Camby -- and Nic Batum, 2013, the only other in the last 10 seasons.
