His shooting / scoring %s are up significantly from past. Assists up some too. Rest of boxscore is basically the same per minute.

Wood has caught Drummond for the team lead in Win Shares this season, ala b-r.com

He's well behind 'Dre in VORP but now leads among players still with the Pistons. Only he and John Henson are even above average, according to BPM.

Sixers, Hornets, Bucks and Pelicans all blew it not testing Wood more and retaining.

Rockets and Celtics were too slow to wake up to the opportunity that I highlighted for almost 5 years. Wonder what they offered at the trade deadline but it wasn't substantial enough.

Pistons will have to give Wood more (or way more) of the deal he wants (whatever that is) than anybody else. If it is close, he probably goes to a major market.

Besides the obvious desirable young players (but probably not available at an acceptable price), I see at least five other guys who might be available and might be worth trying to obtain. Teams, PM me if you want to chat.

New career high 29 pts the other night.

His agent has no one making over $4 mil. Right agent? I dunno. Can Wonder.

PF or C? 82games says Center. Not the last word. Context is important and that position data might not be completely accurate. Not sure if Wood cares the way some bigs do, right now. Probably does but seems to have grown up, accepted direction. For now. Will see if it matters in free agency and future.

There are only 7 - 10 bigs on LA-RAPM and RPM respectively who are estimated at plus 1 or better on offense and defense. There are superstars and role players with just good enough impact at certain things (that may not glamorous). Wood is one of the latter. And maybe a proto-type. The long and quick big with offensive aptitude.

The guys ahead of him who meet the dual criteria are Giannis, Siakam, AD and Tatum. They are better than him; but clearly they all have gotten way more opportunity. Practice, G-league, attitude adjustment ok; but if you don't give substantial NBA testing, you don't know. 4 teams failed to NBA test adequately (nowhere close enough) and passed. The 5th might still lose him. They tested enough but maybe haven't trusted and praised enough.

Who has a body type like this in the draft? Need to check wingspan and foot quickness but top candidate is probably Jalen Smith. Maybe add Toppin & Wiseman, though treated as more star candidates by some. Possibly Tillie, Queta and Pokusevski. Achiuwa and Simanic have the body type but currently only one way players.

Will look further.

I am assuming non-taxpayer MLE is the minimum to get him if Pistons don't wrap him up. A sign and trade might be a possibility, especially if Pistons decide to spend on perimeters and roll with Doumbouya.

One way or another I could see interest from Raptors, Knicks, Wizards, maybe Hawks, Rockets, Warriors, Lakers, Clippers, Blazers... possibly Pelicans, Hornets.

Taxpayer MLE might happen if he really wants a particular team. It would be a gross under-pay, but maybe.

Over last 10 games, he averaged 24 pts / 10 rebs per game. Overall that was top 10 level big man production for the period.

Wood is averaging almost 24 pts, 11 rebs, 2 blocks, 1 steal per game.

Pistons join the list of teams who had him and undervalued him.
