Imo, teams either are a top title contender, a probable top 8 team with a modest chance at a title with right matchups, a mid team or a bottom team who are rebuilding or certainly should be.
If Lakers want and are to be in either of the first 2 groups, they should:
Keep the starters and Prince, unless an obvious upgrade is available. The starters perform well together. Not absolute best but well.
Totally rebuild rest of bench, trading or letting go of any of them, especially those with sizeable contracts.
Only the top 8 really matter to me.
Target Harden.
Target Bitadze, Hartenstein or Bamba. Bitadze is the most realistic.
IF James is unhappy and unwilling to extend or re-sign, I'd blow the whole thing up, including trading Davis. I don't think they are ready to do that, so I won't spend time on that right now.
