To anyone who reads and participates at the "APBR-the historian's discussion board" regularly, would you care to highlight 1-3-5 recent threads as good and likely to be interesting to a more stats oriented crowd?

Anything in this subforum is open for discussion:

The original APBR is the
historic group. While APBRmetrics Forum is reasonably dominated by current developments and the
advancement of stats, APBR members are more interested in historic understandings and comparisons.
Before there were play-by-play -based stats, there were boxscore stats. Turnover counts only date from 1977-78 in the NBA; steals and blocks from 1973-74. Individual rebounds have been tallied since 1951, minutes since 1952.
Teams' opponent totals -- other than points -- only date to the 1969-70 season. Thus rebound rates can only be estimated in the '60s and before. It's kind of fun to debate and guess at the unknown rates.

Updated alltime player rankings are up:

I have LeBron this year passing Bird and Magic to #8 all-time.
Duncan is oh-so-close to Malone and Shaq.

At
http://www.apbr.org/forum/ I see recent topics on the MVP, 50 greatest of all-time, the importance of picks and steals and who is best at providing them, a link to this article I hadn't seen
http://hoopshype.com/articles/hoopshype ... t-get-jobs and more. If you haven't visited in awhile or ever, might be worth a look when you have time.

I'd participate - but it won't allow me to register with my gmail email address:
"The e-mail address you entered is not allowed to be used."
That's the only email I use. It'd be hard to get people to register when many like myself only use gmail.

To clarify: gmail addresses are blocked because so many spammers use them. If that's the only address you have, please let Dean LaVergne know - he can temporarily unblock gmail so that you can register.
