STICKY -- Basketball Statistics Blogs

I would like to compile an up-to-date list of all the good basketball statistics blogs.

By blogs, I mean sites that regularly put up posts about statistics. In other words, not Basketball-Value.com or Patricia Bender's Salaries, or Ball Don't Lie. Blogs about Basketball Statistics.

I'll include NCAA statistics blogs in this list, as well.

I'll begin by putting up the list of RSS Feeds I follow that I have in my Basketball Stats folder:

EDIT: UPDATED LIST:

A Substitute for War
Back Picks: Fleeting Sports Thoughts
Basketball Analytics
Basketball Prospectus
Basketball Prospectus: Unfiltered
Basketball-Analysis.com
Dstats
Harvard Sports Analysis Collective
Hickory High
Hoop Theory
Hoopdata
John Hollinger
NBA Playbook - A Look At The Playcalling In The NBA Through Videos, Pictures, & Words
NBA.COM - John Schuhmann
Nerd Numbers
Notes from the Sports Nerds
Sabermetric Research
ShamSports.com
Skeptical Sports Analysis
Sport Skeptic
SportsDelve.com
STATS Hoops Blog
The Audacity of Hoops
the basketball distribution
THE BOOK -- Category: Basketball
The City
The Gothic Ginobili - Aaron McGuire
the kenpom.com blog
The Painted Area

(Dead) Basketball-Reference.com Blog
(Dead) Basketball-Statistics.com (Jon Nichols)
(Dead) Count the Basket

After a few more people post their "Follow" lists, I'll eventually compile it.

They haven't had as many stats pieces lately, but at least one of the guys there is a professional statistician. I've really enjoyed the numbers pieces they've done.

I was going to mention that one, too. I was also going to mention Brian Skinner's blog (http://gravityandlevity.wordpress.com/), but going over there just now, unfortunately, it looks like he's closing it down. It's worth it alone to click over there just for the title of his final post.

Do you have an RSS list, Evan?

I'll include "dead" blogs also, for reference purposes.

I don't follow that many blogs using RSS. I basically use Twitter for that now.

Maybe this could be merged into the linkage thread or vice versa? I could do it but I am not going to unless another moderator agrees.

Not sure if it will qualify as a "good" basketball blog or not. But, I've re-booted a blog I was doing in the past for the rest of basketball. Will be the same kind of stuff some of you read last year at hoopdata. But, with more college stuff amidst March Madness. I typically read and react to boxscores, so there won't be any individual team player metrics. If you didn't like last year's stuff under my name at hoopdata, you won't like this either (lol). If you did, it's appreciated, and I'll be aiming for the same thing at:

http://statintelligence.blogspot.com/

I'm also playing around with twitter. One week and I'm still getting the hang of it. If anyone wants to read or follow, that's @JeffFogle. Thanks to Ethan Sherwood Strauss for following from almost day one. Not sure if he reads this forum or not. It was much appreciated. Feel free to let me know if there are any team or boxscore topics you think should be addressed in the coming days in either college or pro hoops. Hoping to put together some comparison things for the Dance with Kenpom, Sagarin, Dean Oliver's BPI, Michael Beouy's market estimates, RPI, etc this week and next. Stretch run in the NBA will look a lot like last year's material in terms of style and emphasis.

If the mods decide this isn't a good blog, feel free to delete this post! JF

Cool. I'm following you on twitter (@thecity2). Make sure to link your blog to twitter so that when you post something new it's sent out. That's pretty much the only way I see new stuff these days.
