Shot Charts

Hello I am fairly new to APBRmetrics. I am also a Geography professor and I would like to use shot charts to illustrate to my students the power of spatial thinking through basketball. Finally I would like to complete some basketball "mapping" myself. Can someone tell me where I would find shot charts for particular players? Are they posted for the entire season, etc? For example, I would like to complete an analysis comparing Jru Holiday's season last year and the season before (Andre Iguodala on the team and off). Thank you

If you go to Basketball-Reference and click on a
player page, you will see a link to "shooting" with a list of
player-seasons. There you will see a shot chart with made/missed shots plotted over an x-y halfcourt, and also a heatmap smoothing out those shots.

Start here:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/
Find the Sixers (PHI) and and click on that link.
Find Jrue and click on his name.
Just above his stat tables is a gray bar, consisting of several links. Hover over 'Shooting' and select a season.
In a playoff season, you can also get his playoffs.
You can even separate by series, since Opponents are linked in the bottom section.

Make sure to check out Kirk Goldsberry's blog:

He's also a geography prof. or visiting prof or something along those lines at Harvard.

Here you have a different take, they are relative to the average from that place. You only have this regular season, though.

To further this topic. Is there a way to get raw spatial data on stats.nba.com per game?
