Who scored the first points for the Toronto Raptors? And, who scored the first points for the Los Angeles Lakers?

Not that I have the answers for the Lakers (at least without looking them up) but for the sake of clarity do you mean the LA Lakers (starting in 1960, for whom the the probabilites would point to Elgin Baylor); the Minneapolis Lakers, i.e. the start of the Lakers name and popular imagination of the Lakers franchise (1947, probably Mikan, or perhaps '48 if you want BAA/NBA only, again probably Mikan) or the franchise that became the Lakers (the Detroit Gems, 1946, no outstanding scorer)?

Hey! Like I said...... the "Los Angeles" Lakers (not the Minneapolis Lakers). In other words, the player who scored the first points for the Lakers in L.A. As you already know, the franchise moved to southern California from the State of Minnesota before the 1960-61 season. And you mentioned Elgin Baylor. Thanks for the answer.

Finally, to everyone, who is reading this message, I just updated my profile (If you are interested in terms of looking at my updated profile).

The first regular season game boxscore.

But googling the game (date team name and scores) just comes up with a lot of simple, "it was Robertson and West's debut" this day in history articles.

Most papers on my first google newspaper search were pay access only, but there is this
http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=_q ... +the&hl=en

There are others here https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=1 ... s&tbs=ar:1 but nothing on the first LA scorer.

Excellent! Great details! I will continue to look at the boxscore. Alright! I like it!
