Hi guys,

I'm new in this 'club' and just started to dive into all your topics
Long story short, I merged data from different sources (RAPM, basketball-reference and the SportsVU tracking data at nba.com) and am beginning to play around with it:

I'll try to write part II about defense pretty soon (spoiler alert: FG% at the rim is pretty useful). Let me know what you think and if anybody is interested in the csv file let me know as well. (It's always a bit of a pain to get everything together, especially with the nba.com data...)

Thanks Crow for adding that - I am gonna be desperate to find charts & tables that will work best when displaying my eventual (< 2 months) NBA career projections. I'm trying to make myself more "visual" - the more options I see the better. I know everyone else loves visual stuff - especially to break up the monotony of the #'s and ho hum writing from guys like myself.

I added the charts to the blog posts. I probably won't do it in general, as I don't always polish them enough (wild c&p parties...)
If you are interested, I wrote a program for the scatter text plots:

Well, I'll try to do it for time to time. especially for the non-trivial stuff. Cause I also find it a bit annoying, if I simply have to trust somebodies analysis, so I should do better...

The outcome is in my opinion not super interesting. But for me it was more about trying out some techniques and playing with the data. Especially the separation of data into fitting and prediction is something that one can easily forget.
