I compared the top 40 players on rpm values and ws/48. 24 players made both lists. To meet these cuts, players were +3.5 or better on rpm and a little better than .140 on ws/48.

32 other players made one of these top 40s but not the other. (20 of the top 40 on ASPM were on both the other two.)


So there is a pile of players that these 3 metrics all agree are top 10%ers and a larger pile on which they don't.


(The players who went .200 or over on ws /48 for the first time (with 24+ mpg) were Griffin, Curry and A Davis. There were 9 total last season. The high since 2000-2001 was 12 in 2010-11.)

Iggy is the highest ranking player on RPM to not be above .140 on ws/48 and he is just short at .135.

Harden the highest ranking player on ws/48 not be above +3.3 on RPM and he is just short at +3.1.

So some "misses" are small and should be recognized. Some aren't and should be found and noted too. Patrick Beverley was only at .116 on ws/48. Brook Lopez was +2.2 on RPM. Not a big miss but enough to keep in mind. Cousins at only +0.8.

So this is just 2014 right? The biggest standout to me is Andy and Tyson. I kinda get Pekovic I just don't watch enough Timberwolves for his name to come to the top of my head. 16 of 24 guys being over 6'10 was the other thing that jumped out at me.

Yes, the metric rankings are for 2013-4 season only. Good point about the prominance of the tall guys, aided by more common good defensive impact.
