Harden has mostly good to very good matchup defensive numbers at SF according to 82games and decent in worst cases. Team results have varied widely. But Rockets might use him there some.

TWolves may not be interested in Noah... or not interested until he gets bought out to help keep his buyout low as a favor for then coming there at minimum.

Also, they have several reasons to avoid any appearance of tampering.

One of the Mavs guards (I think Barea) said Doncic was "not quick"... but could pass. And was "bigger than I thought". Then Dirk said, among other things, he "can shoot when he has time". I may be reading too much into these statements but they used qualifiers. I dunno how concerned. But they probably do want him to pass, move and maybe get the ball back over trying to go one on one with an infinite dribble.

No team has more players with injury flags at Rotoworld than the Thunder with 6. Severity and degree of recovery varies. No one else had more than 4.

Yep, they've been inching down my rankings as the offseason has gone on.

Makes sense.

They have a range from 3rd seed to clearly out of the playoffs. Not sure what to guess, but I'd guess lower this week than last and probably significantly lower.

I think I've got them somewhere in a 6-8 pack with Lakers/Wolves.

4-10 in the west or close to it is likely to be pretty closely bunched.

https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1041477092670529537 Houston Rockets assistant Jeff Bzdelik is retiring, with other Rockets assistant Roy Rogers apparently set to take over most defensive responsibilities. Rogers was with the Nets in 2013-14 and Wizards in 14-15 & 15-16 before joining the Rockets in 2016. Nets were 20th in Drtg in 13-14, and Wizards were 5th & 14th in Drtg the two seasons he was with them.

Unless Rogers is as capable of a defensive mind as Bzdelik and can effectively carry the torch (unlikely), you have to imagine the new Rockets players will not be able to get fully integrated/immersed into their defensive scheme as they otherwise would have with Bzdelik.

Defense was already going to take a hit from last season, could it now end up being even worse than expected? So weird for him to retire in such an important offseason for the team.

He is 65 and it may just be that he is just tired of it and / or wants to focus on family.

Or perhaps he wanted to go out o a high and not chance next season being lesser. Or maybe he wanted an extension and raise.

It was a surprise though.

Beverley a or the top PG target for Suns? Perhaps. Because they are unlikely to get the other players mentioned.

5 days to opening of training camp and another report that Doncic is not in great NBA shape. A full 13 weeks after his last competitive game.

If I was advising Blazers, I'd explore trading McCollum. I'd check with Hornets to see if they'd take McCollum for Lamb, MKG and Hernangomez. Who do you think says no?

Lee Jenkins to Clippers is probably about the campaign for Kawhi. How important is story telling? Especially player puff story telling? It is not important to me as a reader but will it be helpful for recruiting? Seems nebulous. Maybe it helps with certain cases. I'd think this development would irk Jerry West to some degree. But if he still has input / control maybe he ignores thinking about this "help". Until it screws things up. It is at least partly about tryng to sell more tickets & associated junk. Somehow the lob city story didn't do near enough to tip the balance closer to the Lakers level.
