Spreading the video data revolution?

Post by mtamada » Sat Sep 29, 2018 11:06 pm

Homecourt is software that will track the' movements of players and the ball, shots, etc. While we've had SportVU and other systems such as ShotTracker for almost a decade now, NEX Team, the company that created Homecourt, claims that their system works without special sensors or devices, all one needs is a smartphone and a hoop. In theory even an elementary school team will be able to capture the data needed to do advanced analytics.

I might be inclined to call this a bunch of hype, but the backers include Mark Cuban, Sam Hinkle, Steve Nash, and Jeremy Lin.

I think is a good app but the issue here is the price, too much expensive. Others systems at level pro, can be more accuracy.

Open source is impossible to get at the moment, if you are in a high school or university NON USA or other tems with few resources this, type of analysis can be very difficult. Until then, we will wait. xD
