On Nba.com lost the play-type stats

Post by Brains-14482 » Fri Nov 02, 2018 5:20 am

Hi.

Maybe who knows the reasons why play-type stats on the NBA.com stopped updating, and now all gone? Maybe there was a message about the reasons on Twitter or somewhere else?

Thanks.

Can you give a link to which API/page you are talking about? They have migrated some endpoints and made breaking changes to others.

I went on https://stats.nba.com/ and through the drop-down list chose the play type(between defense and tracking). Not there now. But it comes to the desired page, if you enter their address in the url row. This is weird.

Interesting. I'm guessing based on what you all are showing that they are either making changes to how they calculate those stats/the data source or they have decided to remove them from the site.
Their devs did the easy thing and removed the links to the page before they killed the page itself. The stats not updating is probably because stopped running the job that populates the data on that page or they stopped calling the service they got the data from and you are just seeing what they cached.
