Pacers?

Glass half full (or more) or half (or more) empty?
Good overall record. Some talent / depth.
Weaknesses: At rock bottom on 3pt and ft rates. Weak rebounding. Horrible in last playoffs.
Need to be much better this time. Unless they are, I'd fire McMillan. He is a good guy / hard worker (and one of my very favorite players of all-time). But virtually no one has been around that long with his record of not winning in the playoffs.
Player changes may be necessary too. I'll wait for playoffs to judge on those matters.

Very good top lineups but none used even 6 minutes per game. 305 total lineups used isn't that bad on the range of whack but it is still whack.

Decent, near .500 record against top 10 teams in regular season. Could give a fight in 1st round. Will they? By regular season games (2 games each), might prefer playing Sixers (unlikely) and not Heat (fairly likely but not set).

No Oladipo.
Available excuse for not making coaching change in event of 1st round loss or another bad one. Probably.

Well, no Sabonis for now. Oladipo?
A little early to say much but that could change quick.

Barring a massive turnaround, it looks like this will be the 9th series loss for McMillan teams in 10 tries.
Worst career playoff win% by a coach with 20 plus playoff games since Eddie Jordan and Mike Fratello. 2nd only to Fratello for worst ever win% by a coach with 28 plus playoff games. If they get swept, he'll be last.

I've said trade Oladipo on twitter. Suggested a non Turner lineup for big minutes. Could find that stuff from 1-2 weeks ago there if interested.

Bjorkgren comes from Raptors. A big part of his selection apparently involved this experience.
On offense overall, the Raptors this season were barely above average. Slightly below average on turnovers, well below on offensive rebounding. Pacers were below average and probably need more than marginal improvement. Second lowest of offensive rebounding last season. Surface case for not expecting improvement there. Pacers were 5th best on own turnovers. Bjorkgren probably doesnt improve things there. Decline? We'll see.
Toronto had strong looking shot distribution and good shooting. Pacers shot distribution sucked from Moreyball criteria (dead last from 3 and ft line) except for shots at rim. If Brokgren helps the offense, it will probably have to be with regard to shot distribution. Pacers already had slightly above team efg% but better expected efg% on better shot distribution could be a big help.
On defense the new coach and team appear to be a good match. The change you'd want to see would be in defense rebounding.
Warren gets beat pretty on matchup rebounding but team was worse with him off. Bitadze and team get beat with him on. May need more than changes in these spots, but they should get attention.
