Arvydas and Domantas

Post by Mike G »

Domantas Sabonis has now played more regular season NBA games than his dad, 477-470.
He's played quite a few more minutes, at 29 mpg vs 24.

While AS was known as a passer, DS has twice as many assists, 1926-964.
DS is not the shot blocker, AS leading 494-213.

In 2FG%, DS has been better by .057; but the league is better by .055
In eFG% it's a .049 advantage -- same as the NBA improvement.

AS FTr was .038 higher, but the league is now down by .063

Pace has also increased, and so per minute and per possession rates are unequal:

Code: Select all

per36 FGA Pts Reb TO
Arvydas 13.2 17.8 10.9 2.6
Domantas 13.1 18.4 11.8 3.0

per100 FGA Pts Reb TO
Arvydas 19.4 26.3 16.1 3.9
Domantas 17.7 24.8 15.9 4.0

Only 46 in NBA/ABA history with 10k regular season career rebounds. Pretty good chance Domantas gets there. 156 with 15k points. He probably gets there. How many with both? Probably about 40. Get to 20k points? Possible. Make Hall of Fame? BRef says 1% chance. I dunno but I'd say much higher.

Pretty sure b-ref HOF predictor is based on career to date.
And dad is shown with 0.0% chance, based on NBA career.
The difference may be Jr's 3-0 lead in AllStar nods.
