ABOUT ROBERT BRADLEY
Born in Chicago and relocated to Phoenix, I became a
Suns fan in 1976 when they made their unlikely trip to the NBA Championship Series to play
the Boston Celtics. After buying my first copy of The Sporting News Official NBA
Guide in 1979 I became facinated with pro basketball statistics, and later on,
professional basketball history. Around 1990 I began to collect my many notes to
begin work on what would become The Compendium of Professional Basketball.
In 1997, after a great deal of frustration while
conducting research for my book, I decided to form a professional basketball research
group which I named The Association for Professional Basketball Research. The APBR
has drawn attention from numerous organizations such as Turner Sports, NBC Sports, CBS
Sportsline, The Children's Television Workshop, Total Sports, numerous minor league teams
and leagues, and the Basketball Hall of Fame.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching basketball,
and conducting research. I'm also a long-time employee of the Phoenix Public
Library. My next project is an essay for the upcoming Total Basketball.
