Average regular season offensive efficiency under Jackson & the Triangle for all his teams: 110.5

Average for league for same years: 106.4

Average offensive efficiency differential: 4.1

Average differential for Jordan years: 4.7

Average differential for non-Jordan years: 3.6

Average playoffs offensive efficiency under Jackson & the Triangle for all his teams: 109.6

Playoffs average for league for same years: 106.7

Average offensive efficiency differential: 2.9

Average differential for Jordan years: 3.1

Average differential for non-Jordan years: 2.8

Average differential for championship regular seasons: 5.1

Average differential for championship playoffs: 3.9

Average differential for non-championship regular seasons: 2.9

Average differential for non-championship playoffs: 1.6

Not sure without more work how important that 1 more average point in the championship regular seasons / playoffs compared to non-championship years was to the degree of the presumed extra defensive excellence in the championship years compared to the non-championship years.

How much of the offensive edge is talent vs coaching & the Triangle system? How much of the offense edge was coming from the defensive strength? Hard to say.

But Back2newbelf's Offensive Adjusted +/- estimate for Jackson over the last 4 years is -0.4.

Jackson's Triangle offensive is not stronger in the playoffs than their regular seasons or even compared to the average RS to playoffs change for the league. It is weaker in both cases. I had thought that Triangle might have fared relatively better in the playoffs, but not on average.

The very last point (or 2) of a championship teams probably makes a huge difference in most competitive years. Seems like plenty of reason for teams to sweat the last point and tenths and hundredths of a point with every tool they have including statistical analysis of players, lineups, rotations, the basic offensive system and coaching.

Average playoffs offensive efficiency under Jackson & the Triangle for all his previous teams: 109.6

Average offensive efficiency differential compared to playoff average: 2.9

Lakers in this playoffs 107.8

Offensive efficiency differential compared to playoff average: 2.0

I didn't calculate the average Jackson team defensive efficiency performance or differential from playoff average but I assume it was a lot better than 109.3 defensive efficiency and -3.5 worse than the playoff average.
