Which decisions do you like / dislike the most for that team?

Was Dwight Howard the only player to get more than $12-13 mil for next season this summer? Several of the guys who got between $8-12 mil would be the top candidates for worst signing though I do not have an immediate candidate for worst. Monta would probably be in the worst 3 contention.

No, Josh Smith ($13 million) and Al Jefferson ($13.1 million) come in around there too.

The Al Jefferson signing seems just insane. He may be (though probably isnt) just good enough to help them finish 29th, which would be beyond stupid. More money and years than Millsap.

So few getting $12+ mil / yr this summer is a comment on th equality of the free agent class and also on the buying preferences of the owners in the context of the new CBA and the escalating penalties for spending high. There may be a few more huge contracts in next summer or two but probably fewer than players & agents had been expecting based on the way things used to work.

And mid-level players will probably see salaries go up a bit since we're now at the point where teams have to spend 90% of the cap.

Thanks. I forgot about him.

There were a little more than 75 guys paid between $3-5 million in 2007-8. About 87 last season. A little less for next season, so far.

I hadn't noticed until recently that the absolute minimum salary (near $900,000) is a lot higher than it was a few years ago.
