Don't think of it in that context. "Per 100 poss" stats are just an attempt to get rid of the influence of pace; a player that plays on an up-tempo team (like the 76ers) has more opportunities to accumulate rebounds/shots/steals/etc. because they simply have more opportunities (i.e. possessions) than a team that plays at a slower paces.

So, instead of breaking down stats by game, which is influenced both by how fast a team's games tend to be and how many minutes a given player plays, or by a standard unit of time (i.e. per 36/48 minutes), which somewhat negates the discrepancies created by non-trivial differences in minutes played, but still is influenced by how fast a team's games tend to be, people oftentimes breakdown stats by a standard unit of possession (i.e. per 100 possession) in order to try and get round both issues.

No. That would only be the case if his team played 100 possessions in the game.

The definition of Pace at b-r.com. It is: Possessions per 48 minutes.

If you assume all players for a team are getting the same possessions/minute -- that is, players don't tend to speed up or slow down their team's pace -- then they are giving rather an estimated Pts/100. They're really saying all minutes have the same avg number of possessions, for any lineup with a given team. But that's not quite precise.
