Whiteside's big dropoff is in blocks: from 4.5/36 last year to half that this season.
Gortat leads the Wizards in minutes, playing the most of his career; but it's because they haven't had another center most of the year.

I'd thought Giannis was uncatchable. Harden's up almost as much in eW/min, and he's played more minutes. This is but an artifact of Houston having played 4 more games -- 10% more, almost -- than Mil.

Most of the improvers were already good last year. Only 2 of 20 are with a new team.
By eWins, 158 players are improved over previous years, while 210 have diminished rates.
67% of 348 returning players are within 1/2 eWin of what they'd have at last years rate

I wrote something for Bullets Forever about Gortat's decline. What I found was that his dip in overall production is mostly about opportunities. His usage is at a career low. In the tracking data, his touches are down and his opportunities are down in every play type that gets tracked, except put-backs. His ortg is ~117 despite poor (for him) free throw shooting. His fg% is 59% so far this year. His steals and blocks are down a bit, but other numbers are consistent with his career norms.

Might be interesting to see usage in the table and get a sense of how much of the improvement was directly because of usage level change vs. everything else.

Well, you've got scoring rates and effective shooting%. A big Eff% improvement and a smaller Sco uptick suggests no real Usage bump. A big scoring bump with little or no Eff% gain implies it's just Usage that's up.

Rather than have redundant information, I try for the fewest columns of data that will explain the most. Stl, Blk, and TO also matter, but they tend to be lesser quantities.
