How to calculate PDR and IDR?

Hi!!!

I would like to know if I can calculate PDR (Perimeter Defense Ratings) and IDR (Interior Defense Rating) if you only have data from boxscore and shot chart. Is that possible? What are the formulas? Any article which explaine how to make the calculus?

I looked at these awhile back and I don't have anything definitive, but was able to produce some similar rankings by running various regressions using:
- adjusted on/off defensive numbers,
- hustle stats (https://stats.nba.com/players/hustle/)
- defensive impact tracking (https://stats.nba.com/players/defensive-impact/)
- defensive dashboard under 6 feet (https://stats.nba.com/players/defense-dash-lt6/)

Would also combine these with some of the more traditional metrics like block/steal %s and really anything else you believe intuitively applies.
