No joke - trade for Kevin Love. Why not go with what works? Love spacing offsets Lonzo's lack of it.
Re: Fixing the Lakers
This wouldn't be my top choice on first reaction... but consider it. Not sure what it would cost to get him.
Would Love play PF or C?
Ball Hart James Kuzma was by far their best quad. Would Love at center fit in with that? Probably. Differently than with McGee but with McGee worked great. As usual the Coach did go to what worked enough. Spinning wheels with so many other lineups.
I'd say they'd need some other major new piece as well. At guard probably. Maybe off the bench but important. A shooter.

Re: Fixing the Lakers
Walton used 811 lineups or over 20% more than the average coach. Injuries were part of it, but the pattern of massive use of dink lineups is clear and almost certainly would have happened anyways. 32% positive was modestly above average. Only 2 lineups clearly above 1 minute per game for season. No lineup over 250 minutes total.
Played Ingram too much. 5 of the 8 most used lineups had him. 4 meh, 1 horrible. Used L. Ball | J. Hart | L. James | K. Kuzma | J. McGee less than 2 minutes per game for season. Probably should have tried for 10-15 minutes per game for awhile then re-assessed.
Hear are some free questions to ask the next coaching candidates: Do you "need" 500 plus lineups to get thru a regular season effectively? Could you get by with under 300? If you had last season's roster healthy who would you have started and how much would you have played them? What would have been your main 5-10 lineup rotation? What did these lineups need different to get better? What are main situations these lineups couldn't handle, forcing the use of other lineups?
