I lived in Anchorage for many years (1993-2007). People used to know me as that "guy from Alaska" before I became that "Hoops Nerd" guy. Hell, if I had stayed there, Seth & I could have started our own analytics city league bball team - that would have been something. Maybe we would have done some actual quality analysis together to boot.

Gotta give him props, he produced a nice amount of great stuff in a fairly short time. I wish I had the drive in the public eye (blog, twitter, etc.) he proved to have the few years he delved head first into it. It's guys like him that helps guys like me focus & prioritize - so I expect he will be exceptional for the Bucks as a director of research.

Thinking about it further - I could very well have substituted in a class or two of Seth's when he went to West High, the timeline fits. I was one of those straight outta college subs who'd play pick up with the good players at lunch, so we might have even balled together. Weird.

He says that due to the headline, he is resigned to being dubbed "Anchorage Man" for a while.
