Clippers might have tough time with the top contenders because of big man matchups and some PG matchups.

Spurs traded away their player with highest RPM estimate (Bertrans), leaving Gay with the top impact estimate from last season. Will probably be Murray or White this season. Negotiating with DeRozan on extension? He came in 134th on estimated impact. Spurs are a deep team and might do something this season. But I would not give DeRozan much or maybe any extension at all.

Knicks probably aren't going to be "good" but might be a 10-15 game spread in wins depending on if lineup management is better or worse than average. This might sound too big but we're talking about being below average to way below, not average to good or better.

Don't like perimeter. Interior is probably not good but better than perimeter.

Team attitude probably starts out a positive. Not sure it lasts though.

Rozier talks big. Helped get himself paid NBA "moderate". Not sure how good he'll be on Hornets but he definitely was better as a starter with Celtics instead of sub. This move might work out "ok". Hornets not good, probably headed for worse but it will be for broad reasons.

Lakers probably have least ability to improve by trade of contenders. Might in small ways and / or buyout market.

Hard to say right away who is "hungry enough" to trade future assets for help now.

Warriors should trade D Russell when eligible. Most likely to Suns or Knicks.

Why do you say Suns or Knicks? I don't see either having particularly interesting offers. Suns would be like TJ+Bridges or something? And I actually don't see anything that would make sense from the Knicks (are they willing to move Robinson?). Minnesota (especially due to all the KAT/DLO/Booker love) with a deal centered around Covington makes the most sense at first glance to me.

Suns, I was thinking Rubio, Kaminsky, other.

Knicks can be different things. At least one PF and PG. Probably more. Maybe Randle, Ntilikina and someone else.

I didnt think about Covington. That's worth exploring.

Teague / Covington for Russell / Burks and whatever balancing is needed.

In December or after.

Clippers looked quite good on night one, not super impressed by anyone else. Is this the new regular for FVV?

4 highest scorers last night were Raptors and former Raptors. Then Lowry tied for 6th.

Very odd 1st game from the Jazz, most things looked solid to great (3pt shot off), Mitchell in particular looked very good, while Conley was almost unbelievably bad. Got a W, so I'm pretty pleased I guess.

PJ Washington goes for 27 points. Mavs' bench wins game. Miami rolls without Butler.

Fizdale picks a pretty weird starting lineup. It was -6 in 7 minutes and set them off on wrong foot. 2nd worst impact of any NYK lineup. 30% of the lineups were positive. He will probably again change many, many times. M. Morris Sr., E. Payton, J. Randle, B. Portis, R. Barrett was +3 in 16 minutes. Just one game but we'll likely see more of that or with Robinson. Maybe as starting unit soon.

By the 4 factors the Clippers are above average in getting to ft line and the best shooting team. On the other 4 factors they are very low (around bottom 10).

Mavs win had a mix of a handful of strong performances, a handful of bad performances and a few in between.

At factor level it was half elite, one-quarter average, one-quarter awful.
