LIneup trends around the league
Re: LIneup trends around the league
Bulls:
Ball - Giddey is great overall in early test of 40% of Ball's minutes and good with LaVine Vucevic but the most common 5th man completions with P Williams and Buzelis are less positive. The best 5th man might be White but only tried for 9 great minutes.

Re: LIneup trends around the league
Weaker to bad Griz lineups generally have 2+ young subs. Not surprising but true and could act upon that knowledge far more than it is.
Biggest lineup just reached 100 minutes and only 3...of 468... over 1 minute per game. 419 used 9 minutes or less for season. 216 for 2 minutes or less.
Did Jenkins increase concentration in past playoffs? Yes. Enough? Apparently not. Biggest issue I have with them in playoffs.
I have a very strong 5 lineup rotation that fits even with players minutes kept to about 28 and below. 10 players used. I reduced Pippen's. Could possibly do with Wells but only using him in 3 very positive lineups, so not needed at the moment.
A trade for Butler would create a lot of disruption.
Would probably need to have him anchor the bench units. Play with 1-2 or the main 3 lineups. Won't really analyze & recommend from the outside and given the low probability.

Pelicans:
6 of 7 most used lineups negative, most horrible.
434 lineups used. Just 1 over 2
minutes per game for season and just 1 more over 1 min.
Totally absurd and not working. Shows no signs of good judgment, effective counseling or active management.
20 of 20 best used pairs negative. Roster does not fit and / or systems are poor.
20 of 20 trios negative. McCollum Jones Murphy is closest to neutral. If you save anything, save that or the latter 2/3rds. Notice who is not named.

Re: LIneup trends around the league
What are the most logical responses to the Pelicans being tied for 3rd worst team in league?
Start with possible responses then evaluate and pick.
Possible responses:
1.Keep doing what they are doing. Using hundreds of lineups. Using lineups and sub-lineups that have failed thus far.
2. Play lineups that worked last season.
3. Use far more lineup concentration and disciplined testing / evaluation.
4. Move away from starting a replacement level on BPM rookie center.
5. Admit that the Murray trade was a disaster.
6.Admit that losing JVal, Nance, Daniels and Marshall hurt in some or all cases.
7. Make major trades. Make "minor" trades.
8. Fire one or many Coaches or front office staff.
9.Try deep bench players.
10. Change systems, play calling, details.
11.Sell the team. Try to move the team.
12, Change pace.
13. Get more Moreyball oriented.
14. Find / play better shooters and play poor shooters less. Currently available and obtainable.
15. Find / play better rebounders and play poor rebounders less.
16. Find / play better passers and play poor passers less.
17. Find / play better defenders and play poor defenders less.
18.Find better leaders or at least remove / decommission ineffective ones.
19.Fix Zion as much as possible. Fix Ingram. Fix McCollum. Fix Murray.
20. Waive one, more or many players and try new ones and send a message.
21. Totally rethink overall design and design for guards, wings and bigs.
22. Find someone else as a model to follow.
23. Hire new / addition staff in multiple areas.
24. Continue tanking if they are actively or begin if want top odds at high pick.
Response 1 is ridiculous. Pursue most or all of the rest.

Re: LIneup trends around the league
I don't see "look for better training staff" or if that's viable, but the injuries have been extreme.
The first 5 here have started all the games they've appeared in. Only 2 of the 5 have been available (%G) even half of the 46 games so far.
Multiply those 5 % and you get 1.8% of games they'd all be available if their injuries are randomly occurring. That's less than one game that you have your 5 preferred starters.
Necessary 'starters' are Murphy, Missi, and others.
Ranked by % of games started.

Re: LIneup trends around the league
Missi is considered necessary by design & for development and because of failure to stock acceptable alternatives. By BPM, his performance is 2nd worst in top 10 of rotation. His team +/- on court is 16th and his on / off is 18th.
Re: LIneup trends around the league
Magic, 1 good lineup in 5 most used.
506 lineups used and 501 are dinks (less than 1 min / gm). Crazy as usual.
Best quad in top 6 is Suggs KCP F Wagner Bitadze. Still works when substituting for Bitadze or Suggs.
Need a shooter with that. Da Silva is probabky nit enough but best option at the moment. Hot in Feb.
6 of 7 most used Banchero lineups negative and 9 of 10 main pairs. Moderately negative on / off on both sides of court.
Off-season trade consideration? They probably won't, at that time. But I'd start looking, for soon or
1-2 years from now. Try a new Coach beforehand?
If they don't change out several guards after this season, they are not serious / hopeless.

Re: LIneup trends around the league
Kings should play starters very big minutes. Without LaVine or, if with, with Ellis over Monk.
Re: LIneup trends around the league
Taylor Jenkins goes to 16th starting lineup tonight.
Thunder at 20. Several others around 20 in first few checks. Knicks just 7. Spurs 9. Warriors 33.
Griz used 51 last season. Thunder just 12.
