Could try to justify Barnes deal but I didn't want it. Should be traded now, imo. Not the right deal for the role in that salary context. Now or at least soon. Barnes - Monk at -12 should be eliminated, if somehow still possible and not 16th most used. Barnes - Mitchell should be eliminated on same basis of being terrible. And Barnes Lyles and more.
Murray - Barnes is Murray's second weakest rotation pair at a very minimal positive. They are too similar in role. 3 point shooting and very little assists or rebounds. Team run for Fox and Sabonis stats.
Be patient on Murray if you want, but I was very disappointed in year 2 (and year 1). Should have pushed for more, given him way more respinsibility. Mid-range shots expanded by 55% from yr1 to yr2. Appropriate? Would need further study but I have doubts.
Starting lineup was pretty big minutes and pretty good but I would have used 50+% more.
465 lineups used is less than most but still a crock. Shouldn't go over 200, shouldn't go over 150... shouldn't... Handful of lineups tested from near 1 minute to 3 that could have been given / probably handled more.
Lots of decent pairs but only Murray with bench centers popped among the biggest minute trials. What to take / make from that? Better be something.
Monk will be difficult to retain. Price likely to go too high. I'd expect to not want to match or beat the market price.
Huerter and Monk were pretty similar. It was fairly nice to have both but that probably fades to just one.
Davion Mitchell was probably a wrong choice, hasn't improved enough and probably should be traded if you can get anything decent for him.
Duarte is a flop and should be traded.
Lyles is decent individually and very strong in pairs and should be extended unless a play for clearly better is out there. Lyles - Sabonis at +10 should not 21st most used pair. Lyles - Fox at +9 should not be 16th. Lyles Murray at +8 5 should not be 26th.
K Ellis is an obvious keeper, extend as soon as allowed. Starters with Ellis over Fox almost twice as good in about 1/8th the test. I'd test that 2-5 times more next season and consider the results. Cut back on the dink and think about the potentially very important.
I'd give Colby Jones a real chance next season.
Vezenkov was alright. Not as hyped but hope for more. Give more opportunity and responsibility and see what happens. Inconsistent shot but Brown probably needs to be told to play him way more next season. Vezenkov - Sabonis though was awful in a somewhat too short test. Test it again but test other stuff more. And decide what to do to improve fit or move on differently.
Retain as much of the deep bench as they want.
I could research and say more but that is 1 hour's worth.
