IIRC the Raptors had created a tool that generated ideal shadow defenders who could be inserted into their video or court diagrams, showing where theoretically ideal defenders would've placed themselves.
This looks like it takes that idea a bit further. It looks like an electronic whiteboard where the coach can move their players around, and the computer will show how defenders might react to that.
We can easily think of potential uses for this, as well as weaknesses and limitations. It looks more like an evolutionary step, not a revolutionary leap forward.
What I find interesting is that basketball research is getting covered by Science, granted this seems to be a column on their website, not a peer-reviewed article in Science magazine. But I've seen very few articles about sports analytics on their website prior to this.
An article about artificial Intelligence in basketball, published on Science's website

Hyper-link goes to the authors' research paper for more detail.

Seems to be nice, will be funny like coach having this tool, because if you know for example how your opponent defense the pick and roll you can put it on the diagram and see what will be the next movement easy way in the middle part of the game.
