Might Raptors go after Drummond?

Could trade him but might wait til summer.

Would be surprised if Raptors didn’t leave enough capspace available for Giannis and Kawhi FA in 2021

If you trade for Drummond and he opts in, you have your 2021 flexibility.

By raw rebounding info or by RAPM factors, you might think Drummond fixes their rebounding weaknesses.

By RPM he looks like a modest upgrade over Ibaka. By LA-RAPM he doesnt.

I was asking a question that I don't know how they'll answer.

If he opts out, he might be a lot cheaper.

If they make a major move it will probably be at C or SG.

Center is not too bad. Gasol is 4th in RPM for Cs. Ibaka is down the list as usual, but has many more playoff reps than Drummond. The wings are the place to improve if anything (FVV who is listed as a “SG”, Powell, and Anunoby are all around 18-22 range for their position in RPM)

Raptors will want to play small with Lowry, VanVleet and Powell together in the playoffs, so if they made the finals it would become a problematic matchup as Lakers and Clippers are quite large. Clippers playing George and Kawhi at the 2/3 would make it nearly impossible to play Lowry and VanVleet together, and that’s before considering whether Powell at SF against Kawhi is survivable. The Lakers are more manageable for Lowry/VanVleet backcourt, but Powell at SF will get posted by Lebron. On top of this the rebounding would be troublesome if giving up those size advantages. This was one of the biggest problems against the Cavs, Lowry/FVV/Derozan perimeter was rendered unplayable against any team with Lebron at SF, and Love posting up meant you couldn’t put a perimeter player at PF. Plus Cavs killed them in rebounding with lineups like Lowry and VanVleet. So if Raptors made a move it may include the bold move of shopping either FVV or Powell for a bigger player, or Anunoby for a player as big but better and older. Or they could just take their chances and do everything they can to make the finals and then hope a team like Utah or Denver is the opponent. Plus maybe the Lakers matchup is winnable cause you still have Lowry/VanVleet, Lowry/Powell and VanVleet/Powell minutes, you just can’t play all three as much. At that point however it might be nice to have one more depth SF. The Clippers ability to effectively play Lowry and FVV lineup out of the series seems very bad for them however.

It would be rare that I would play Powell at SF in playoffs. I'd likely give all the forward minutes to Siakam, Anuoby, RHJ amd Boucher. Maybe some Ibaka.

Try for Wood. Or Boucher. RHJefferson.

Maybe Dunn at right price.

Galinari to ?

Magic might be a potential suitor / winner.

Who else? Probably not Heat. Nuggets?

Warriors? (by sign n trade / trade exception) Wizards if they lose Bertans? (Probably sign n trade)

Might end up re-signing with Thunder. If they delay the rebuild 2-3 years. Or they trade him after a year.

Pelicans signing Ingram to the max or near max seems very likely. Might get real expensive keeping this group together.

Assume Holiday gets traded at some point.

Might be not so easy / appealing to trade Ingram at a super high salary. Not an impact player according to LA-RAPM despite what the boxscore shows.

Assume they'll keep Ball or Hart. Not sure they keep both unless the Holiday move is imminent.

There are articles talking about the possibility that Gordon Hayward opts out. Most probably see it as low chance. I dunno how likely but I think it is a real possibility if the playoffs don't go well and the right someone makes an aggressive / early under the table appeal.

Yeah, he'd likely lose some money next season but locking for longer is arguably a bigger priority. Is he likely to get same offers in summer 2021 (with more top free agent competition) as summer 2020? I doubt it. Another injury would be very costly. Does he want to re-sign with Celtics? How certain is he of a big next contract with them? I would not totally assume it.

VanVleet's choice will be one of the biggest.

Probably not many blockbuster moves.

Ibaka could be interesting.
